Day 84: Screaming Hairy Armadillo

The screaming hairy armadillo is a burrowing mammal in the Dasypodidae family. It is found in western Bolivia and northwestern Argentina. When not in its burrow, the animal spends most of its time foraging. They are omnivores and will forage for plants, insects, snakes and lizards. When threatened it releases a loud squeal. For protection they have built in armor which is composed of scutes and a head shield. Hairs protrude outward from the armor.
