Day 64: Leaf Tailed Gecko

The leaf tailed gecko, aka uroplatus gecko, mimic dead leaves that even their tail looks crumpled to make it seem like it is rotting away. There are 14 species of uroplatus gecko and they are found on Madagascar. They come in many colors to blend into their surroundings. The one shown is the satanic leaf tailed gecko which can be identified by the horn-like protrusions above the eyes. They do not have eyelids, so they lick their tongues to keep them clean.
