Whale sharks are the largest fish reaching lengths up to 40 feet or more. Despite their size they typically eat small prey. They are filter feeders and will use their enormous mouth to filter for plankton along with small fish. They prefer warm waters and are known to migrate in the spring to the continental shelf of the central west coast of Australia.
