Tarantulas are a type of spider that is covered in hairs. Some species of tarantua have uritating hairs and they will flick these barbed hairs off their abdomens when disturbed. The hairs will lodge into the eyes of the predators and cause irritation. Tarantulas live in warm areas around the world. They can dig their own burrows and will line them with webbing to keep sand and dirt from coming in. They will also live under rocks or logs. When they kill their prey they release venom with liquifies the insides of their prey. Most of the time their venom has a potency comparable to a bee.
