Day 57: Horned Frog

Amazon horned frogs can be found in freshwater marshes and pools in the Amazon Basin, from Colombia and Brazil. These frogs can grow to about 8 inches in length. They get this big since they are not picky eaters. They are ambush predators and will hide most of their body except their heads protrude. When anything smaller than their own bodies appears they will spring and swallow the prey whole. Their ravenous appetite and huge mouths have earned them the nickname "Pac Man Frogs."
