Day 56: Emperor Penguins

Emperor penguins are the largest penguin and live in one of the most harshest climates, Antartica. Penguins cooperate with each other against the cold climate by huddling together. They take turns sharing the warmth in the middle by rotating with those on the outside of the huddle. Females will lay one egg and then leave for two months to fill up on fish. Meanwhile, Male emperor will take care of the egg by balancing it on their feet and covering them with feathered skin called a brood pouch. When the mothers come back they give food to the newly hatched babies and the males with then switch to look for food themselves.
