50: African Elephant
The African elephant is the largest land mammal on Earth. They are slightly larger than the asian elephant and have bigger ears. African elephants use these huge ears to radiate heat to keep themselves cool. One of that main features on an elephant is that long trunk that they use to smell, breath, drink from, and grab things. They have about 100,000 different muscles just in their trunk. Another interesting fact is that female African elephants are pregnant for about 22 months. Also at birth baby elephants weigh around 200 pounds. Their lifespan in the wild is about 70 years.
