Why I Love Animals

Ever since I was little I've always had a love for learning about animals. My favorite animal growing up was the elephant because of their intelligence and their relationships with one another. I took trips to a local nature center and to the San Diego Zoo while growing up. I was amazed by the animal's adaptations and their unique features about each species. As I grew older I volunteered at the nature center over the summer and an animal shelter for almost a year. I then started volunteering at the OC Zoo in 2014 where I got to handle animals outside of dogs and cats. I was afraid to handle animals, such as lizards, snakes, and owls, but as I understood their personalities I am now excited to introduce these animals to the public. With this 100 day project I wish to pass on this love for learning and caring about animals onto others.
